Wegow, the first social live music marketplace where users, artists, promoters and brands interact in a completely new way to gain exposure to live music, has launched today its first crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube.
The Spanish incorporated startup offers a scalable solution to build everlasting relationships between users, artists, promoters and brands. Users won’t miss another gig thanks to the company's in-house algorithm – not only giving them access to tickets but also socialising in Wegow’s community. Artists can target their audience better and sell more tickets with our WegowPro tool. Promoters can plan gigs more effectively, expand their business reach and promote concerts reducing the demand risk. Finally, brands have a unique opportunity to engage and impact users in an immersive environment where their content adds value to the users’ experience.
The campaign at Crowdcube, open to private investors, will finalize at the end of February 2018 with the goal to raise 750,000 pounds, from which 465,000 are already committed. "The raised funds will be used to consolidate our position in Spain and strengthen our internationalization process to ultimately become the world leading social live music marketplace", said José María Ozamiz, CEO and co-founder of Wegow.
Since November 2017 Wegow is actively operating in 19 countries: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom and United States.
Revenue amounted to €4m in 2017 and it is expected to exceed more than €10m in 2018. The company reached 1.4m monthly visits in January 2018 and has more than 78k followers across all social media channels.
Wegow’s team is its main growth driver. More than 25 professionals specialized in tech development, social media and ticketing who also have knowledge of different disciplines of music.
Wegow has been featured in Vanity Fair as one of the top 10 Spanish startups to keep track of and in GQ as one of the best apps in order not miss a gig or festival. Wegow has also received the prize for the Best Entrepreneurial Project of the Year by the Spanish Association of SMEs (CEPYME), handed out by the Prime Minister of Spain Mariano Rajoy.
