Canção faz parte do próximo álbum, “High As Hope”

Os Florence The Machine acabam de revelar uma nova canção retirada do próximo álbum, “High As Hope”, intitulada “Big God”. Com o single estreia também o respetivo vídeo, realizado por Autumn de Wilde e coreografado por Akram Khan e Florence Welch.

“Big God” sucede a “Hunger”, o primeiro single retirado do álbum “High As Hope”, que chega às lojas no próximo dia 29 de junho.

Em “High As Hope”, Florence explora novos territórios musicais, ao mesmo tempo que regressa às suas raízes. Florence começou a compor para o disco (que é também o primeiro que oficialmente coproduziu) sozinha no sul de Londres. Posteriormente, levou as canções até Los Angeles, onde trabalhou com o amigo e coprodutor Emile Haynie, o que levou depois a colaborações com Kamasi Washington, Sampha, Tobias Jesso Jr, Kelsey Lu e Jamie xx. Florence misturou o disco em Nova Iorque, onde a visão diária e tranquilizadora daquele horizonte icónico – muitas vezes em contraste com o caos do resto do mundo – deu ao álbum seu título otimista.

“High As Hope” acabou por resultar num disco que reflete uma artista que está cada vez mais segura de quem é e do que ambiciona. Florence escreve agora sobre a sua juventude com uma perspetiva renovada e mais madura, sobre crescer no sul de Londres, sobre a sua família, as suas relações e sobre a própria arte. “High As Hope” é um disco que é tão intimista quanto épico.

O regresso com “Sky Full Of Song”

Single será editado em vinil de 7” no Record Store Day

Os Florence The Machine acabam de desvendar o seu belíssimo novo tema, “Sky Full Of Song”. Lançado de surpresa em parceria com o Record Store Day, o single terá ainda uma edição limitada em vinil de 7” no dia 21 de abril. Já está também disponível o vídeo da canção, realizado por A.G Rojas.

Relativamente a “Sky Full Of Song”, a própria Florence escreveu: “Esta é uma canção que caiu do céu já completamente feita. Por vezes quando estás a atuar sentes-te de tal forma nos píncaros que é muito difícil descer [à terra]. É aquela sensação de te sentires quebrada, correndo incessantemente de um lado para o outro, de querer que alguém te abrace e te faça voltar a ti mesma. É um sentimento incrível, celestial, mas, por vezes, um pouco solitário.”

Esta edição de “Sky Full Of Song” para o Record Store Day será acompanhada de uma gravação de “New York poem (for Polly)”, retirada de “Useless Magic”: uma coleção de letras, artwork e poesia que irão formar o primeiro livro de Florence, que oferece um olhar único e pessoal sobre o seu processo criativo. “Useless Magic” será editado a 5 de julho.
