EP conta com o single “Bad Dreams”

“Apart”, o novo EP de Pete Yorn & Scarlett Johansson, já está disponível nas lojas e plataformas digitais. A Entertainment Weekly já referiu que “‘Apart’ é um sucessor cintilante e movido pelo rock do disco de estreia do duo, “Break Up”, de 2009.

“Break Up” atingiu a marca de Platina em França e atingiu as tabelas de Rock e Alternative nos EUA, bem como o top Billboard 200. O disco contém nove canções, oito compostas por Yorn e uma versão de “I Am the Cosmos” de Chris Bells.

Yorn, conhecido por, ao vivo, fazer versões de grandes influências como The Smiths e Bruce Springsteen, escolheu, para “Apart”, fazer uma versão de uma canção bem menos conhecida pela qual se apaixonou na primeira vez que a ouviu. A canção é “Bad Dreams”, que foi originalmente gravada com o título “Worried” pela banda de Brooklyn The Echo Friendly, em 2012. As outras quatro canções de “Apart” são originais de Yorn. “Apart” inclui ainda uma remistura do tema “Tomorrow” com Johansson. A canção faz parte, originalmente, do álbum “ArrangingTime” (2016) de Yorn.

O vídeo oficial de “Bad Dreams” foi concebido pela lendária realizadora Sophie Muller (Sade, Gwen Stefani, Annie Lennox) e mostra-nos Yorn e Johansson numa viagem estranha durante a noite, onde nada é o que parece. A relação desenrola-se através de momentos surreais onde os papéis de cada um são invertidos e a suspeição entre ambos aumenta. No final, ficamos sem saber se tudo não passou de um sonho.

A PAPER escreveu: “[‘Bad Dreams’] é parte Lynchiano, parte fantasia synth-pop dos anos 80, e muito entusiasmante.” Já a NYLON referiu: “Embora o título aluda a pesadelos, o single é uma maravilha pop de três minutos.” Já o site Idolator escreveu que o tema é “um hino adulto refrescante e viciante”, enquanto o Stereogum escreveu que “‘Bad Dreams’ é um tema rock cintilante que ganha muito com o belo contraste entre as vozes de Yorn e Johansson."

Acaba de ser lançado “Bad Dreams”, o primeiro single do novo EP de Pete Yorn & Scarlett Johansson, “Apart”, a ser editado a 1 de junho. “Apart” é a primeira colaboração do duo desde o álbum de 2009, “Break Up”. O EP inclui quatro novos temas e uma versão de “Tomorrow”, canção que fazia parte originalmente do último álbum de Yorn, “Arranging Time”, de 2016.
